Dawn Chalmers - Middleweight Boxer

I am the top ranked middleweight boxer in New Zealand, Australia and the Oceania region.

My recent boxing achievements include:

• Gold medals at the 2005 Oceania Games (Port Moresby) and Arafura Games (Darwin)
• Three-times New Zealand Champion
• Four-times Golden Gloves Champion
• Recently awarded most scientific boxer at the North Island Golden Gloves

In my sport, preparation means success.  I have been working with Andrew Maclennan for a year and have made huge gains in my strength, power and fitness levels thanks to him. 

Andrew has been great in helping with my goal setting and long-term training plans.  This is so helpful with the 4th AIBA World Champs in India and the Beijing Olympics just around the corner.

Of all the Olympic sports, boxing is the only discipline without a women’s component so it is encouraging to know that Andrew is right there supporting female boxing in New Zealand. 

I want to keep succeeding internationally and know I can with Andrew in my corner.
