Soulan Pownceby - New Zealand Boxing
My name is Soulan Pownceby, I have been a New Zealand boxing representative for the past five years. I represented New Zealand as a light Heavyweight (81kg) at top international events such the 2003 World Championships and Commonwealth cup, 2004 Athens Olympics, 2005 Commonwealth cup and 2006 Commonwealth games. I currently hold the New Zealand record of 4 golds at the Oceania Championships. I first officially started working with Andrew from November 2005. I was looking for a conditioning coach who could make me stronger and more powerful but also who understands the importance of anaerobic conditioning to develop lactate tolerance. Andrew with his excellent knowledge of strength and conditioning principles and his experience from coaching top level athletics in New Zealand helped me to increase my strength and power and develop such a good lactate tolerance that i was able to top the fitness tests for the New Zealand Commonwealth BoxingIteam.
